I’ve been singing and performing as long as I can remember. Before joining Second Story in 1997, I sang for a number of local cover bands. As a result of trying to mimic the styles of many different artists, I found that I was able to adjust my vocal stylings to complement the ever-evolving Second Story “sound.” For instance, I can go from a whispy vocal for warm and inviting ballad like “Wind,” to a full-throttle grind for an angst-ridden song like “Truth Is…”
I’m also happy with the increasing role my flute is playing in our music. Whether it be in support of a melodic theme (“Dishonest,”) a simple, thoughtful solo (“Never There,”) or as simply another unique timbre within the band’s instrumentals (“Shooting Star,”) I’m glad that I can offer an additional “color” for the musical pictures that we paint together.
Outside of the band, I assume the role of student; I’m currently studying to earn a Communications degree. But that never distracts me from my real passion: creating truly original music with Second Story.
